Richard Edwin

Richard Edwin joined Blackrock Expert Services as a Director in 2012. He is a Chartered Civil Engineer and has the benefit of more than 30 years experience as a main contractor, construction manager and in dispute resolution. He is frequently appointed as a delay analyst and expert witness in litigation, arbitration or adjudication proceedings, specialising in the forensic examination of project programmes and delays on high profile projects in the UK and internationally. He has given oral evidence in arbitration and DAB proceedings.

His experience consists of identifying the cause and extent of delay and disruption in relation to various fields of construction including: structural steel and reinforced concrete structures in building and heavy civil engineering projects; infrastructure projects including offshore gas platforms, topsides and other marine structures; complex gas production installations; power stations and desalination process plants; major roads, tunnels and bridges, new railways and railway telecommunications equipment installations; airport facilities; complex M&E services installations in hospitals; bespoke structural glazing and curtain walling systems; etc.

Richard has considerable experience of various methods of contracting, planning & programming, cost estimating and value engineering. Richard’s work has also involved advising clients, architects and engineers on delay/extension of time issues during the course of live projects and he has provided expert advice in professional negligence disputes.
