Sarah Parkin is a Chartered Quantity Surveyor with over 20 years’ commercial experience in the property, construction and engineering industries. Over the past 10 years, she has specialised in the provision of dispute resolution and expert witness services on multiple, large-scale disputes in litigation and international arbitration. Sarah has also been regularly engaged to provide commercial oversight and interim support and recovery services on distressed projects.
Her project portfolio spans various industry sectors, including onshore and offshore oil and gas pipelines, renewable energy, infrastructure, manufacturing, process plant and industrial, and commercial and residential buildings.
Sarah is skilled in the assessment of contentious construction matters including cost escalation, rectification of defects, delay and disruption, suspension and termination, professional negligence and property damage. She has live project experience as a client-appointed commercial manager, employer’s agent, quantity surveyor and contract administrator. Sarah’s experience has covered the whole project life cycle, from feasibility studies to the negotiation and agreement of final accounts and project close. She also has several years’ experience in property taxation consultancy.
Sarah holds a first-class honours degree in Quantity Surveying and an MSc in Construction Law and Arbitration from King’s College, London. She is a Fellow of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors, a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators, and a Member of the Chartered Institute of Building.
